The guy won a championship because his assistant didn't bother to change the terminology in Oakland after he took over the team. That's the NFL that Gruden left. The NFL he tries to re-enter will eat his ass alive.

He's gotten way too comfortable with his TV gig, IMO. He wouldn't have the drive to do the job right.
I've been saying so for years. This board was ****ing clamoring over Cowher and Gruden when we hired Reid. Guys that have been out of the league very long at all just lose touch so quick. Cowher sounds like a window licker anyway. I have no idea why anyone would want him. And Gruden is a function of good TV production. He (and everyone else on TV) picks a few points, hounds them hard, and everyone (read: dumbasses) thinking he is a genius. The only guy who appears to pick stuff out of the game is Collinsworth, and he's a large market sword swallower anyway, so it doesn't matter.

I'd have been done. If they'd have hired Cowher or Gruden, I'd have had to throw in the towel and resign myself to the fact that the organization is full of bumbling idiots that if they ever fell ass backwards into a win, it would be by sheer, blind luck.

Hiring a guy years out of football is a ****ing joke. Why do you think guys take coordinator positions after getting shitcanned?

Hell, he wasn't even that good the first time around and left the Bucs organization in shambles.

Raiders, too.
What people don't remember is he won that Super Bowl early with that crazy good DL, and then did ****all. Everyone presumed he was good because he won a Super Bowl, but there were a LOT of years of bad ball being played in Tampa that he got a pass for because he was supposed to be some kind of prodigy. He was lucky.

Didn't they get Simms (Sims? I don't know how the hell to spell it) while he was there? I don't remember.
