The Eight Most Maddening/Frustrating Teams In The NFL

Surely the Chiefs would never make such a list?!

Yeah, right...

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/...d=wispr#page=5

NUMBER 5 of 8:

Quote:
Which outdoor stadium is loudest? Seattle’s CenturyLink Field, or Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium. The answer seems to be whichever one has hosted the most recent nationally televised game. But Seattle has a huge edge over Kansas City in one area. The Seahawks have won 10 straight postseason games at home. The Chiefs, meanwhile have dropped five straight at home.

Home or road, the Chiefs have only won a single playoff since Joe Montana retired. That was a 30-0 drubbing of the Texans, another team on our list.
As long as Kansas City has Andy Reid coaching and Alex Smith at quarterback, it will be a relevant team. But the goal shouldn’t just be relevance. In reality, the goal shouldn’t even just be to win a Super Bowl.
Instead, the goal should be to set a team up that can win a Super Bowl and not surprise anyone. With Reid and Smith locked into the most important positions, the Chiefs don’t have that. If Kansas City wins Super Bowl LII in February of 2018, it will be a surprise. In truth, that means that a Super Bowl win is probably not happening.
The Chiefs have been just good enough to be disappointing for a long time. That doesn’t seem to be changing any time soon, either.

I don't think that's it. Sure, they might be nice people but that's not the real issue.

Not being determined to win a super bowl is the problem.

They would be pleased to win a super bowl
They are striving to win a super bowl
The ultimate goal is to win a super bowl

But they are NOT determined to win a super bowl whatever it takes.

If they were then just winning 10 games and making the playoffs wouldn't be enough. They would have to think that the team had a real chance to make/win the super bowl on paper since that is the part that they control.

Nobody outside the Chiefs' fanbase thought the team was a legit super bowl team this year. Every playoff team could get lucky and make the super bowl but that's not the same as be considered a super bowl level team.

The combination of Andy Reid The OC and Alex Smith The QB just isn't good enough to be considered a super bowl level duo on paper.

yet ... they will almost assuredly be there again next year and the next.

It would take someone not satisfied will just being good enough to fill the stands and make the playoff. The Hunt family has shown time and time that they are just that, content with being competitive.

That really doesn't have anything to with being nice.

chiefs need to take a dive and trade for a difference maker.. they hav e the talnt already.. spend the money on a big time FA *whose a playmaker* or draft a highly touted person.. any means ncessary

John Dorsey has done a great job finding free agents and draft picks. The question becomes and we all know it can he find the QB?

Will Reid LET HIM find the QB?

It's time for Reid's pitiful man-crush to come to a close. His love of Alex is killing the rest of the team.

For the life of me I cannot figure this out. Andy Reid loves to pass he can give a **** about ever running the ball in a game hence all the freaking draw plays that go for three yard loss he throws those in so he can get back to passing. I don't ****ing get it. Alex Smith was at his best in SF with a running game called GORE that set up play action and all he had to do was throw it in TE Vernon Davis general direction but he only had to pass it 25 times a game to be successful. Andy Reid wants him passing it 45+ a game and that just isn't feasible for him nor does he throw it past the first down mark on 1st second or 3rd downs.

Jim Harbaugh knew what he was doing to help Alex Smith Andy Reid does not.

I am dumbfounded.

Pretty easy to see the answer for this one
I LOVED Russel Wilson in the draft that season. I remember watching him stomp my Huskers in the Big 10 Championship (i think) and witnessed he was a gamer. I wanted the Chiefs to draft him, but of course not.

Then I went to the Chiefs/Seahawks preseason game during his rookie season and just watched him tear us up. The Seahawks had the BALLS to bench their big name offseason signing and go with a rookie.... something the Chiefs will never do. I really think that Pre-Season game against the Chiefs is what propelled Wilsons career.

Does anything honestly think Bray/Foles/Hogan or ANY other QB on this roster has had a legitimate chance at "competing" for the starting QB job? **** no.

The Seahawks are smart.
