The Unpopular Thread

It ain't all Alex' fault. And it's not all Andy's fault. You don't want to hear that but it is true. We won our division with smoke and mirrors.

We had the worst running game and couldn't stop anyone from running on us. We are deficient on both lines and our running backs are below average. Had we made it past the Steelers, our train would have surely stopped in New England.

Only the top echelon of QB's could have overcome those deficiencies.

Truth is, we need help on the lines more than anything, followed by a quality running back. Spencer Ware has as much vision as Mr. Magoo. If somehow a top RB falls to us at 27, it will be tough to pass them up.

I want a QB as much as the next guy and I'm sure we'll get one SOMEWHERE in the draft, but we better address the lines too.

It completely surprised them and it should have been a sack
No, that's not what happened. It was a pretty lousy call by Sutton. And Berry absolutely left Houston hanging out to dry against one of the best WRs in the league.

Tamba is on the left end. Ford on the right end. Wilson covering 81. Houston on Brown. Berry shading the box. Parker over the top.

At this point, Houston is already toast. Hali is coming around the end, but isn't close enough. Ford is coming up the middle, and would fall at Ben's feet.

Here's Berry shying back toward the middle of the field watching Ben's eyes, while Houston is getting burned behind him. Ford is just breaking through the middle of the line, Hali turning the corner.

That was a shit call by Sutton to line them up that way, and a failure by Berry trying to read the QB instead of helping out one of the worst matchups in the entire playoffs.

No, but they didn't score more than 18 points. Would Wilson catching that pass have changed the rest of the game that much?

I actually think you're a good dude, so I wont respond in kind... but we must've watched two different games

The NFL has set it up as a QBs game, yet Smith continues to rely on his defense and running game... fair or not, thats NOT how the game is played now

Personally, I dont like it a bit... what the hell happened to defense, and running back dominance?

Nonetheless its 2017 hate it or not... get a guy who can threaten defenses with every snap, or watch the refs call holding every 3 plays because your brand of ball sucks

Smith relied on his running game in this game? They didn't run very much, so I don't see that at all.

People are still blaming the defense that didn't allow a TD and held Pitt to 18 points, huh?

Interesting.

We scored 16 points. In a PO game.

Falcons 36
Pats 34
Pack 34
Steelers.....18

We scored the fewest points of any div playoff team.
Tied with the Texans..16 FN points.
We allowed 6 points in the 2nd half....6.

Gotta ****ing score 20+ points.....I would expect 24 points minimum in today's NFL.

Bell gets his every game, but we kept them from scoring.
This league is about scoring. We kept them from scoring and and every other team would have won had they held their opponent to 5 FGs except the teams with Alex Smith and Brock Assweiler at QB.
The two shittiest QBs left in the POs.

All these PO failures have had one thing in common. Shitty QBs.

It is true.

This CHIEFS team wasn't all that great this 2016-2017 season. I call them the luckiest team in the NFL. It is amazing that they won the AFC WEST! Alex Smith looked cold and old against the Steelers. Time to move on

Alex smith wasn't good enough to win that game, he was below average for a QB outside of the first drive and a few plays here and there the rest of the game.

I hate the "if" argument in almost anything related to Chiefs. If shoulda woulda coulda. If Alex Smith didn't play like he had Tiger Uppercut dick in his ass maybe we would have won the game?

I said it before and I'll say it again. Houston played about 5 games, not enough for a 100M man. Hali was never fast and father Time has caught up with him. DJ needs something more than an oxygen thief next to him at ILB. Poe isn't the same since his surgery. He's went from monster to average/slightly above average. The Chiefs D was opportunistic and lucky this year. It's an aberration to be bottom 1/4 in yards allowed and top 1/4 in points allowed.
Will all the injured come back and fix all the problems, I don't think so. The D needs some more pieces.

You just described Pittsburgh's game plan against KC. They are running the ball and relying on their improved defense.

The defense pulled a lot of wins out of their ass even though they were decimated with injuries.

It's obvious what the main problem is with this team, but there is not an easy fix.
