I don't understand what is inconvenient about downtown. Whenever i go to an event there i get in just as fast or faster compared to parking in that cluster**** Kaufman or Arrowhead parking lot. As long as you accept you have to park 4 blocks away and walk its reasonable fast. I don't think KC is set up geographically to support a light rail system at a reasonable price tag

2 things -

If its a full Sprint center, it can be a bitch. Not Truman Sports Complex bitch, but still a bitch.

Also, depending upon the part of downtown, it can be a bit sketchy after dark if you step outside of the 6x6 block area.

This sentiment is so outlandish to me. I lived down there for 5 years (just moved recently). Never had a break in, never robbed, never had my car stolen, never had a run-in with anyone or was I ever assaulted. I heard gunshots ONCE. Is there crime down there sometimes? Sure, but the vast majority of assault charges issued downtown are dipshit Johnson County kids getting into fights at the PBR bar.

The stigma that KC's downtown is unsafe is a remnant from days past. It's one of the safest, if not the safest, downtown areas I've lived in or visited. Go drive through downtown at about 9PM on any night of the week. You'll see young women walking their dogs alone, making ChiefsPlanet member New World Order look like a huge pussy.
