Am I wrong, or should we be rooting for Alex this year?

So, the Chiefs gave up their 27 this year in round one. And a hypothetically placed round one next year. Plus a third. In this one instance, we need Alex to excel as it lessens the burden on the front office for next years draft. Were the Chiefs to tank, then Buffalo could end up with the number 1 pick next year, and the first pick in the 3rd round. Whereas if the Chiefs win, Buffalo's new picks are late round or worst, 32 overall, and we bitch a little bit less about Mister Smith.

Win Win?

Spoiler!

This team has basically no chance to win the Super Bowl this year.

There's very little chance they could get past teams like New England and Pittsburgh in the playoffs without a super bowl caliber quarterback, with a coach that has a losing record in the postseason and still can't manage the clock, and with a defense that is likely to be undermanned by playoff time.

You're basically counting on all the key players on defense that haven't been able to stay healthy recently all staying healthy through the playoffs and that they all return to play at a high level, that they will be able to replace Poe's contributions on the d-line, that Smith will suddenly become who he was for about half a season 5 years ago, on and on...

This team was in the bottom half of the league last season in both offense and defense. They were mediocre at best against both the run and the pass. Anemic on both sides of the ball. Turnovers can change games but eventually you have to win a game against a good team without them. This team as it's currently constituted can't consistently do that. It's built to beat bad and mediocre teams but not great ones.

If we had a Brady or a Rodgers, they could help us overcome all these shortcomings. But we don't.

We are left hoping that we just drafted one, but this year is going to be about taking pride in another playoff appearance, buying AFC West Champion t-shirts, and arguing over whether they should throw Mahomes to the wolves.

I love my CHIEFS.

I still think Alex is the best choice and hope that our draft picks grow.

The constant flowing of the anti-Alex club needs to have some Gyne-Lotrimin packed in their pussies to relieve the irritation. TBH this place needs a good Bob Dole'n or it's not going to be anything more than a cesspool. The QueerBait Death Club need their one who sucks the peniss muffled.

They can go suck a hook dick, but I prefer to go **** Wendy.

I think no chance if Brady is on his game. If he hits the 40 wall and is injured we have a chance. Slim but a shot. I feel like a lot for the offense rides on Hunt being better than Ware and a ton rides on Houston actually kicking ass like he used to.

tanking for draft picks (the ONLY positive that could come via tanking) is never a good idea....

I think if we can manage to win a playoff game or even make the playoffs the 'culture of winning' can be further ingrained and some valuable experience can be had...

Nothing good can come from alex sucking, really...because if we throw Mahomes in too early it could be bad for his development...

Yes, of course we root for alex....

Just root for your team, you know we've got the future starter already on the bench, let's get the other pieces running like a fine tuned machine to keep him upright when he gets in there.

I'll always root for the Chiefs to win, as many have stated already. But I've been hoping to see Alex succeed at a high level for years now, only to be his slightly above average, game managing self. He is what he is.

Tigger's a dumbass, and Alex has one year left in KC. Doesn't mean I want my team to lose.

The absolute worst thing that could happen is the Chiefs winning a Superbowl with Alex. Then we'd have to resign Smith to a big contract. Clearly, that would be one of the worst moments in Chiefs history.....................
