That is interesting but you're going to have to show blitz percentages, W-L record and stiffness of competition to truly prove your theory.

That would be a start. You would have to look at opponents personnel groupings, formations, running & blocking patterns, passing profiles & concepts they like to run, hash & down/distance tendencies.. all of this stuff factors in to how and when you attack with blitzes.

Let me know when he has looked at all that film to solidify the fact that Sutton is "saving" stuff.

Because we played a span of QBs that have proven to beat the blitz and Sutton knows we have some concerns in the secondary...so he has adjusted his scheme to something opposing offenses didn’t have much film on and it was working quite well till the last couple games when opposing offenses caught up.

Are you suggesting he’s bringing more than 3-4 rushers per play at the QB? He’s not. He’s dropping 7 and 8 DBs into zones and forcing QBs to fit throws into tight windows.

Go watch the defense during those spans when we are getting a lot of sacks...6 and 7 man rushes, single high safety and press man.

He'll adjust but at the end of the day our players are going to have to play better. They've been horrible

- Bad tackling
- bad ballhawk skills
- not taking away quick passes despite tons of guys in coverage
- Not winning one-on-one matchups when trying to get pressure on the QB
- Big holes for RBs to run through
- too many penalties

Unless these things get fixed no scheme in the world is going to make this defense good.
