Suck it up butter cups! We’re stuck with Alex for the rest of the season no matter what. Benching him would be the dumbest thing in the world! No one is gonna trade us for a guy we benched for a rookie! We have to pray that Alex balls out against a soft schedule for the rest of the season. In my opinion this season is all about trade value for Alex. Don’t even think about the playoffs. Don’t get your hopes up. I’d take a better trade for Alex than I would one playoff win. I’d take a first/ second over Alex getting us to the AFC champ game and losing.

Seriously, I could give a crap less about playing out the season for a draft pick.

If this is what we are doing, I would rather see Mahomes in there getting some experience for next year. That would do more good than having a higher draft pick. Look at what Watson was doing. And most here would argue Mahomes is better than Watson. Mahomes has had nearly 6 months since he was drafted, and two since the season started to learn.

Let him play and get real game experience. Then he and Smith can continue learning in the film room from a different perspective. And Mahomes can get a game or two of experience in the playoffs, which could make a huge difference going forward.

It all comes down to getting dominated up front. Defense and offense was pathetic yesterday.

If we're to the point where we consider conceding 28 points a solid defensive performance then we aren't going anywhere. That is terrible defense. It's like being content an offense only scores 17. Not horrible, but not championship level.

The only reason this season isn't worse is because Smith balled out. But we must accept that Smith was never built to win shootout after shootout. He's a placeholder. This defense is giving up upwards of 23ppg. And we have Alex at quarterback. Not a Superbowl recipe

Yep. The game was lost yesterday in the trenches on BOTH sides of the ball.

It's no secret that the Chiefs are soft.

The defense did better than the Rams, Green Bay,Redskins, Cards, and 49ers did as they all allowed 28 points or more. We in turn did not score anywhere near our averages.

We held Zeke under his average per game.

Problem was a very average Dallas D held us below our average PPG...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Or we failed to score our average PPG. I don't know where to find all passes attempted or yards after catch but when the longest pass is 22 yards (other than Hill Mary) You're doing something wrong. You are not stretching the field. I just never saw a passing game get off the ground and I don't think it was because of Dallas being all that good. Hill had 8 yards other than the Hill Mary. We had 8 receivers and I don't think there were but 2 balls thrown over 10 Yds.

There it is.

Even healthy our line is very mediocre run blocking and pretty poor pass blocking. And that's with an elusive and scrambling QB that can avoid sacks when the pocked breaks down...

Our main issues in 2017 is not Alex. People just want to fast forward to next year.

I dont see a scenario where Smith is starting next year or even kept on the team other than a Mahomes injury in practice ala Watson. Then I could see them hedging their bets.

We trade Alex and we can get a top LB or secondary player in the draft. Mahomes era begins. We can all see it. Just need to be patient.

If that's the plan we better fix this line now.

You look around the league and the young QB's that were successful early like Dak and Wentz had very good lines in front of them.

its easier to fix an o-line than get top shelf secondary players and LB's.

The line is everything. Always has been, always will be.

He only seemed elusive in the beginning of the 3rd quarter... I guess next you're going to tell be he threw a 56 yard bomb for a TD?

Actually our opposing team PPG was lower than 23PPG and because of our last 4 games PPG keeps getting higher. Our last 3 games our PPG was 26 and 4 games back it was 22. We have not been a team which stops the scoring of the other team but one that scores more than they do. Recently our scoring PPG was 34 4 weeks back and is now 28 with the last 3 games at 25.3PPG.

So IMFHO the problem is not the defense as much as it is the offense, Add 9 points to our scoring and our problems go away as we would be 8-1. which if I do say so is pretty ****ing respectable.

Read the title?
