I think it's mostly frustration that in a season where Denver is experiencing the worst of it all... no other team in the division is proving to be a threat to achieve anything of real significance this post season. Rivers is old, but playing well. KC is determined to keep their rookie QB on the bench when they should really say screw it and go for it at this point, and Oakland is.. Oakland.

We are used to pain and despair as Chiefs fans. Most of us knew at the beginning of the season that we weren't going anywhere substantial with Smith. For most, this was a lost season anyway. But then the team actually got our hopes up, and now despair again. Really doesn't hurt me at all, really. Business as usual being a Chiefs fan. The pleasure comes from the Broncos demise. Listening to my Broncos friends bitch is music to my ears. They have been spoiled and now being brought down to earth, like they ****ing deserve something or something. It is my wish of 10 years of turmoil and absolutely disgusting football for the Broncos. Hopefully we can get that. Everyone else in the division deserves it. And that makes this year for the Chiefs, fine in my eyes.

BUT then New England happened and Alex was playing out of his mind. Suffered a major loss in Berry, so expectations were kept in check. Then Philly happened and 5-0 and expectations were raised. Now, in the midst of the FREE FALL, I'm back to where I was at the beginning of the season, only bitter about it all after getting a taste of early success. Next year is next year, BUT it's the FIRST time I can remember when a legit QBOTF is in the wings. So, it is what it is now and KC can still make the playoffs - in fact still controls its own destiny, but nothing will come of it regardless, so I'm of the opinion to start Mahomes now -to get a jump on tomorrow. Who knows, what if the kid can lead them to the playoffs and maybe even win a game? Talk about confidence going into next year. And if he fails, he's a rookie, and will gain valuable experience regardless. ![]()

6-5 and one game up on the Chargers and Raiders. Won @ Chargers and lost @ Raiders @Jets Raiders Chargers Dolphins @Broncos That's why they should have started him at home vs BUF. I really doubt they start him at the Jets. Either way, that's a nice 5 games with 3 straight in KC for the rookie to give it a shot. If you're a realist - what do you want, limp into the playoffs with Alex? You've seen that movie, so worst case - limp in with the future QB and see what happens, let him work through his learning curve with something on the line and put him in a spot to be a hero. Or, you end it with a thud and continue the bland and generic path you're on... it's really kind of lame.
