PTO days or not there are going to be those fringe employees that call in sick when they can get away with it. Paid or not.

I give my staff paid time off using a complex blowjob/swallow formula.

Earn 11.3 hours per pay period which is every two weeks. Caps out at 396 hours...or somewhere close to that. I've been with the same company 25 years.
I think for new hires it's like 7.8 hours per pay period, 7-24 years 9.3. |

PTB. It accrues 5 hours a week and maxes out at 7 if you are there 20 plus years. They capped it at 2000 hours because some people would never use it and cash it all when they retired. Lol

I'm fairly new at my office, so I'm not 100% sure how my companies PTO policy works. I do know we accrue a certain amount of PTO each paycheck. (The longer you are with the company, the more PTO you get per check)
Ours is also lumped in together as far as sick time and just regular days off. |

PTO only. My company when you start your first 'full' year on jan 1 you get 7 days, 2nd year is 12, and stays at 12 forever.

I was a ****ing year and a half away from having an additional week when my last employer decided to sell off all their Pigsknuckle properties. Not even sure with my new job and I probably won't stick around long enough for it to matter anyway.

For your situation, at six years, it's 24 days.

Sick days are separate from vacation days.
80 hours of sick time per year. Vacation starts at 4.25 hours per two week pay period. After 10 years it maxes out at 6.25 (which is where I’m at). I’m government though. |

20 vacation days, 8 personal days and one floating holiday.
The new employees only get 5 personal days, but they didn't take the days away from the older ones. One of the few perks of having been there forever. |

We also get an optional holiday to take during Christmas and New Years. Plus one floating holiday for the year.
