Welcome to the NFL. Every fanbase has fans who will be angry at a player for sitting during the anthem. There isn't anywhere he can go to get away from that.

Honestly, we don't even know why the fans were jawing at him. It's all conjecture

That is bullshit. Seattle has bigger loudmouths than we do. They have for years. We have one guy who kneels, doesn't even say anything, and the whole city went apeshit. The giants have Odell. The Bengals have burfict.

And Kansas City has a guy who beat up his pregnant girlfriend back in college

It's all about on field performance.

It's not all about on field performance because this was happening beyond normal way before any drop-off was noticeable. Good point, the guy beat his girlfriend. Find me stories about chiefs fans harassing him about this beyond what's normal. Hill has stayed out of the spotlight because he's kept his mouth shut and spoken "corporate." seems like a common trend with Clark hunt.

Their loudmouths come to play every down it makes a difference. You keep bringing up the kneeling and league is full of them that still play 100 % on the field. The Chiefs organization suspended him with cause. Seems funny Peters quit on the field has coincided with telling him to kneel in the tunnel not the field. This is the reason you shop him the kid cant separate his protest from his performance and job.

Peters was playing every down in the beginning of the season. Like I said, this heckling was happening WAY before any performance drop-off. There is nothing to even hint that Seattle fans for example do anything to push their players off their edge, and they are big loudmouths. The fans heckling of peters on and off the field was extremely noticeable.

If he is so sensitive he cant tune out fans then he might as well hang them up now. He is playing a position that gets a lot of criticism from fans same as a QB. Better buck up buttercup.

Get out here with that pile of crap!

QBs get criticized by their own fans for their play on the field. Not their politics. He is oversensitive but I don't think he would react in nearly the same way if this was a criticism of his play on the field.

If he's is so weak-minded to let a few fans throw him off his game, then he needs to get thicker skin. Some of your own fans will be azzholes. That's why I'm not one of those guys who whines when players are "selfish" and go to the highest bidder or Tony Gonzalez guys. Live for yourself.

Half of those same fans would be booing you if you stunk, and a fraction would cheer if you got hurt. Being "selfish" is okay, don't worry much about the fans.

But being soft and quitting on your team? Never okay

If you get booed for your play, your reaction is "I need to get better." That is totally different from getting heckled for your personal views. That's about community acceptance. And I'm sure his first thought is "I'm counting the days before I can go to a community that will accept me" and he would be right, and the article is that most coastal metro markets won't give 2 shits. I am guessing that most fan bases won't intentionally try to throw a high performing player off his game for his personal views. This was more than booing and it predated when he "stunk:

I'm pretty sure he would have a GREAT issue in getting booed off the field if he kept up his "pact of non-aggression".

I don't give a **** if the man wants to pop-lock on the 50 while screaming "I **** CLARK'S ASS"!

Just put the fire in the play itself, because THAT is where the mother****er BELONGS.

The booing and heckling predated the "pact of non-aggression." He knows (and he's right) that the majority of the criticism started for reasons outside of his play on the field. I agree that his shitty attitude about tackling and being a powder keg need to change. But our fans should be pissed at themselves as well for bringing out the worst in one of our better players.

Bullshit, we aren't responsible for anything.

Alex Smith has had terrible things said about him. Has been booed by both his fan bases (SF and KC). Dude goes out and plays hard every game. He's a very limited quarterback, can't beat Cover 2, but I'd never say he doesn't try. Fans heckling is no excuse

There's no telling what types of words have been thrown at him. But the guy goes out like a professional every game, doesn't blame anyone, never criticizes the fans, and doesn't resent Mahomes. I respect that.
