Question here - because you do know your stuff - Did you ever see Jordan play? If so, how long?

Those Philly/LA matchups are just a ton of fun.
Someone has to explain to me how the hell Embiid doesn't go off for 35/15/5/5 every single night. How the hell do you slow that guy down? I mean, the answer clearly isn't Brooke Lopez (oh, you poor poor man), but there can't be more than 2-3 big men in the entire league that have the footwork to stay in front of him and the bulk to keep from just getting backed down. Oh, and if you do, he'll just hit a goddamn 26 footer from straightaway. Because evidently he does THAT now as well. Fan!@#$ingtastic! He has good timing when contesting shots and even when he doesn't, the officials are slow with the whistle. He's a good passer and has everything you could ask for from a rebounder. The guy's just damn near impossible to stop. The one thing I did notice last night was that Randle was clearly pissed about getting de-pantsed in LA. He fought Embiid hard. Those guys were all but fist-fighting to find space in the paint and Randle simply refused to quit on a defensive possession. He was still outgunned physically, but he managed to hold his own alright by simply using everything he had every time down the court on the defensive end. And if he fouled Embiid, he by god fouled him. He wasn't gonna let him have the and 1. Ingram's shot to win it was about the purest 'THWACK' I've heard as a ball went down all season. I mean he just bulls-eyed that shot. That was two young teams that were treating it like a playoff game and letting it all hang out. You'd be hard pressed to find a more entertaining game to this point in the season, IMO.

Just off the top of my head Kobe's 2005-2006 season is better than what LeBron is currently doing 35.1 ppg, 4.5 apg, 5,4 rpg, 1.8 spg including a game where he scored 81-pts LeBron relies on assists and his teammates far more than true scorers like Kobe and MJ did |

The only argument MJ is going to have is peak because LeBron's longevity is unmatched (and LeBron's peak was just as good as MJ's, if not better). He's going to absolutely shatter every single record in the books at this rate. |

Jordan did pretty much everything better than Lebron and did it in a shorter time period |

but that was the point of tanking, getting 5 tries at the loterry and coming away with 2/5 with superstar potential is a huge success. proves what they did worked. you know how many superstars come out of each draft, sometimes 1, sometimes 0 sometimes 5. its a crapshoot |

I don't think the NBA need fear the Spurs anymore than usual, because we all know they're very good. However, there are several teams that are just as good - maybe even better - and two are in their own conference.

I know the current Bulls don't even deserve a mention in this thread, but I watch them for reasons I can't explain outside of Chiefs/Royals syndrome. I swear every one of these guys has Andy Reid's internal clock, total choke show down the stretch. Anyway, I'm hoping Markkanen can emerge as a closer and I also enjoy listening to Stacey King on the broadcast getting fatter as the season goes on. Dude looks like he swallowed Whitlock whole.
