When you have one player rotting, you want to get that rot away from the others.

We also don't know how serious this was behind the scenes. We know he requested a trade, but its possible he told them he wouldn't report to camp if he wasn't traded.

I think Peters pretty much put the Chiefs in a no win situation.

Of course, I could be wrong as well, just my two cents.
You don't allow one of your most talented employees to control the situation in the first place. Not when he's under contract. He shouldn't have the ability to put the Chiefs in any type of situation. The Chiefs failed to control that situation.

What big picture part are we going to discuss?

If a player wants out of here he can just complain?

If the Chiefs have a player that wants to leave they'll gladly take pennies on the dollar and let you bend them over?

That an all pro CB was just traded for draft picks that may net 1 decent starter?

So all of that is better than having a "problem player" I guess, that is the big picture that keeps this team from ever winning anything.

Give that organization the benefit of the doubt, go ahead, they've really given us a reason to right? With their 50 years of incompetence and a head coach with 20 years of it, right?

How bad did Reid hate Peters? An All Pro caliber CB with no off field arrests (no wife beating, no DUI's, no bar fights, no sodomizing small mammals) and they have to give up a pick to shop him?

Uh, is the guy unable to decide how to act on his own?

Was he able to pick how he ate, or what time he gets out of bed in the morning?

JFC, did you actually watch the Chiefs this year?

They were getting torched on the side of the field OPPOSITE Marcus Peters... i.e. the dumpster fire of Shit Stain Gaines, Terrance Mitchell, etc.

I like the person that earlier in the thread said Reid is like Belichick and is done with head cases at this part in his career.

Yea all of Bill's rings buy him that right to do it his way, Reid has none so there's no comparison.

I came up with this today. Mahomes needs to be the new leader in this locker room and maybe this was part of it. Move Peters so he can influence nor challenge him. Mahomes needs to be the alpha. Now we still have Berry and Houston as leaders on defense. But this needs to be Mahomes’ team.

So Terez tweeted that the Chiefs only rolled over $2.6 million to the 2018 salary cap which was the 8th lowest in the NFL. They also spent the 2nd lowest amount in cash on player salaries yet they still had cap issues. Dorsey did a great job lol

I disagree with that...he wanted out once he realized he was stranded in farmtown and the fans turned on him. The team/owner sided with the fans...and issued a warning about kneelig. He didnt want play out his career here..and I dont blame him. Growing up inner-city black..kneeling for police abuse is something white mid-westerners cant comprehend. It's a real issue...and if I were a black athlete, would feel adamant about raising awareness. The hicks tried to parlay that into disrespecting the military...which is a joke.

If Kelce kneeled..he wouldnt have recieved the same backlash. Like it or not...race played a part in the faux-outrage.

People shocked that we didn’t clean up in a deal where only one team in the league wanted a guy we were going to release. Kind of funny.
