Do the chiefs get blame for waiting until value was zero? If this was building then it happened well before this years trade deadline. The chiefs weren't dealt some hand they had no control over.

You keep saying this but I don’t think you’re considering that it probably just went south really fast. This time last year they probably had no idea it would come to this. They probably didn’t even consider it till after the trade deadline.

The biggest mistake was taking a chance on the guy in the first place.

I think it depends on the perspective.

Was in fair in the sense that the Chiefs got back the right compensation for a player as talented as Peters? No, definitely not.

However, his personality is clearly a concern for not only the Chiefs, but for all the other teams that didn't even try to trade for him, as well.

Only one team made an offer. For a player as talented as Peters, that is pretty telling.

The market is only as high as what someone is willing to pay. The other 30 NFL teams didn't want to top the Rams offer, and the Chiefs clearly felt that was worth getting rid of him.

Definitely a tough pill to swallow, and I can certainly understand why people are upset over it, but just seems like NFL execs know a lot more about this guy than we do.

Maybe. But then people keep saying it's been bubbling for three years. Can't be both ways. If it got that bad that quick I'd be even more inclined to call the bluff and let him sit out versus taking the deal we did. How much worse a deal would we really get a year from now? What a third coming back to us instead of a second?

I don't think they'd continue to try and work with Peters.

Could be wrong though.
I think they would have issued an ultimatum very early with Peters. Maybe Peters would have still been a brat. But at least they'd establish the line early. I think they would have stopped the problem well before the second meltdown.

It’s incredible how you walk on both sides of the fence while throwing jabs at the side you don’t agree with

They would have stopped it, it might not have worked, but they would have stopped it.

While earlier post blames the fans, while saying Peter’s should have handled better, but the fans were super mean

I applaud your mastery of the fine art

Certainly possible.

That works with some people, while others, rebel even harder.

I find it very hard to believe the Chiefs haven't tried to reel Peters in before. I would guess they've tried an awful lot based on how talented he is, but just realized he doesn't care.

You claimed that Marcus Peters punched a wall, but did not punch a hole in the wall:

Its possible both sides are at fault, you know. Peters is a hothead and a powder keg. He shouldn't blow up like that. But the fans are the ones poking the guy with a stick. They aren't without blame either.
