For him to not quit on his team when times get tough would be a nice start.

Phillips will harness that negative energy towards his scheme instead of wasting it like Sutton.

I look for this to be the best payoff trade in the NFL for 2 years until he gets paid. Phillips will probably retire, and the wheels will come off for Peters.

Too bad we didn't use him for those 2 years. Sutton can get fisted by an elephant afflicted with gigantism.

I love how, if Peters and Sutton butted heads it's Suttons fault and he should go. Sutton probably should've gone but not because Peters isn't coachable. He's had several coaches and so far is batting .000. Why will Phillips reach him?

His trajectory took a rather large dip last season. About the same time his antics took a huge upswing.

Phillips has kicked ass and taken names for decades. His scheme is aggressive, the kind of defense that players love. His success has earned him a ton of respect. What the **** has Sutton done?

No doubt that Peters is a POS, but when that is harnessed it can be deadly.

Sutton actually fielded a top 10 defense at least 3 of his years here. People forget the defense wasn't the issue most of the time he has been here.

Yes, he kicks ass. But why will he change Peters? I'm betting Peters stays the same.

The only two California nfc teams were the only two teams interested, and they're smack dab next to Oakland. What an incredible coincidence.

Until this year, the regular season D had been good under Sutton, but essentially can't force a punt in the post-season (other than against Houston).

I went back and looked at the stats -- top 6 in yards per play 2014 and 2015. Still, the playoff collapses are way too much for me.

Peters owns as much of this shit sandwich as anyone involved.

Do I want him gone? No.
