Dirtiest High School Basketball Play Ever?

I watched this game last night since the winner was going to play our local high school team (who won 65-54 tonight) for the state title.

Here is the play:

https://deadspin.com/kansas-high-sch...kin-1823671758

I thought the crowd was going to riot. It was insane, and I have no idea how the kid didn’t get ejected. Justice prevailed and Hanover won the semi-final game in overtime.

Someone please embed so I can place in the OP.

The other team should've been forced to forfeit.

Should have been a tech at the very least to keep control of the game; the crew is lucky an MMA bout didn't break out.

Small town mentality is a little different. We are generally nice, even when someone pulls shit like this.

The guy got an intentional foul, but should have been tossed. I was pissed and it wasn't even a kid I knew. If it was one of our boys, or even my own son I would have come unglued.

just stop.....please.

And for the record, the play (and topic of this thread) is extremely dirty.

Hard fouls on players going to the bucket are supposed to be across the arms.

Period.

Its dirty, but probably looks alot worse than it really was.

White boy should be suspended a game IMO. Or was this the final game of the year?

The original view looks horrible. When you watch it from this angle in slow-mo he obviously pushed him but the kid was running so fast that his momentum made it look like he got pushed way harder than he did. Not excusing the white kid's play, he should have been T'ed and probably ejected but I dont think its quite as horrific as everyone is reacting.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Yeah, but everyone knows the result of a slight shove in that situation. Might as well be at the top of some stairs. That play is as dirty as it gets.

Exactly my take on it. Rotten play and the kid is lucky the other team didn't retaliate immediately (you can see the entire bench react like they're going to storm the court and all of them hold back). I think white kid was pissed and lashing out at a breakaway play, but I would wager he didn't expect that to happen. Not a defense of the play of the kid by any means, it was still a shitty move.

And "worst ever"? Nah. I've seen some real blatant fouls like elbows to noses and straight jab cock shots that way worse than this, imo. Still, as you said, kid should have been T'd up and booted from the game.

The kid that got pushed dunked earlier in the game, got in the face of a Centralia player and taunted him. Should have been a T, but the refs let it go.

Doesn't justify the push, but it probably contributed to the buildup. Also, the two schools are in the same league and are rivals.

That said, yes, it was dirty and the kid in front could have been seriously hurt.

He needs his ass kicked...

Nothing aggravated me more than watching referees lose control of games in basketball. There was one in the Springfield organization that had a knack for it.. and I wasn't the only reporter goon to notice it.
