It's just not how I would do things. I wouldn't spend that large of a chunk on a WR right now. Not with the way Dorsey left the team.

If there are no FAs on defense worth spending starting money on, I'd honestly just pick around the edges on a bunch of little guys, carry the cash over into next year, get some comp picks, and REALLY make a push in 2019.

In the meantime, I'd work on early extensions for other dudes we want to keep around.

There’s really no one off the top of my head that is worth extending right now. None of them have played 3 seasons yet.

Seriously, I don't feel like people are understanding the importance of it. Once he either, tanks, or requires a big deal, the window is gonna get a lot smaller.

We've already wasted a year of it by him sitting on the bench. Don't blow another year of it. The sitting was supposed to make him good to go. If it didn't, he should have played last year.

He missed 3 games his 2nd year and 8 his 3rd year. Had a foot issue that lingered over.

He was fine his rookie year and last season.
