****The 2018 NFL Draft Thread**** (No Spoilers)

Let's ****ing do this.

Last year was a one-of-a-kind, so let's hope the luck carries over to this year, with Brett Veach at the helm for the first time.

Rules:
1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's McCaffrey to Tampa) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").

Don't be a dick.

Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny.

I'll also be starting threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP. Pure knee jerk gold to reference in the future.

*Note: For 2017 hilariousness, view that thread here.

Well, I wouldn't trade getting Mahomes for anything, but it sucks watching the AFC West teams getting better while we have to watch. I can't wait until we hopefully have our full allotment of picks again next year.

Eh.

The Browns took one at 4 and I can't see another add at CB for them yet.

Giants need interior OL and a QB.

Bucs need RB and OL.

Colts will take one yeah.

The Pats might, the Cards probably will but I don't see a sudden pants on fire rush happening for corners.

I'm pretty confident the Chiefs can sit still and get a Carlton Davis.

I still think the Browns will get another CB though. Just a hunch.

They signed EJ Gaines, TJ Carrie and just took a corner at 4. I don't think corner will be a priority to open today.

Still on the board:

Harold Landry
Maurice Hurst
Will Hernandez
Justin Reid
Jessie Bates
Mike Gesicki
James Daniels
Josh Jackson
Carlton Davis
Isaiah Oliver

Lot of talent still there, if we trade up higher into the 2nd I really want Landry or Hurst I think.

If the Falcons have a second and Gesicki falls - they'll certainly grab him.

The Falcons have the 26th pick of round 2, so after the Chiefs.

I'm just now able to check in. A few observations from the non-expert:

1. It seems like receivers are going slowly. I could live with getting a good receiver to go along with Tyreek and Sammy, though it's a luxury.

2. I don't get the Marcus Davenport frenzy. He seems Vernon Gholston-esque to me.

3. That left tackle from Texas (Connor something) is still on the board. We don't need one, but he might be a good inexpensive replacement.

These guys are still there waiting In round two

Harold Landry
Justin Reid
Jesse Bates
Josh Jackson
Donte Jackson
Christian Kirk
James Washington
Maurice Hurst
Mike Gesicki
Ian Thomas
Dallas Goedert
Will Hernandez
Isiah Oliver
Kyzir White
Carlton Davis
Issac Yiadom
Conner Williams
Ronald Jones
Derrius Guice
Anthony Miller
Keke Coutee
Courtland Sutton
Josh Sweat
Harrison Phillips
Arden Key
Tim Settle
Quenton Meeks
Lorenzo Carter
Nathan Shephard
Rasheem Green
Dorance Armstrong

etc etc!!...unless someone incredible is waiting for us In the 40s, I think we're in a damn good spot to pick up some good quality. Dallas and the Ravens, for example, are bound to take a receiver. Whilst other teams have different needs too. I think we're gonna be happy at the end of the night tbh. I just wonder If Hernandez will still be there for us? Man that would be brilliant.

The problem with Jackson is I don't know how well he fits here...playing man with slow dudes is hard, also you have the problem of he really doesn't defend the run at all. There's a lot of video of him actively avoiding contact..I know people hated Peters for that.
