The could have bought Netflix for around 50 million and Blockbuster laughed Hastings out of the room. On top of that they had evidence that their business model was going down the tubes as early as 1997. Flash forward to 2004 and to compete with Netflix's mail service they were going to have to cut all late fees 200 million, and invest in digital infrastructure to stream which was going to cost another 200 million...and that's when Carl Ichan stepped in and utterly ruined the company.

Hell yeah Video Library in Lenexa was the best. They had everything. That was a great place to rent obscure, hard to find movies. Rental fees were high but you put up with it because their selection was so great.

There was a Blockbuster next door to Little Caesar's in college. We would order a deep dish pizza at Little Caesar's, wait till its ready at Blockbuster and normally buy a bunch of the candy and other junk they had.
