A ****ing men, looch.

Because if you consider those pop-****rypolitan jackoffs 'country music', then I'd understand your statement. As 'subjective' as music is (and, coming from a music tech major and someone who probably has the biggest collection of instruments and recorded music on this board), I've only found 2 types of music : "great" and "not great". Waylon Jennings is great. Kenny Chesney is not great. Both are labeled "country", but that genre is arbitrarily applied as a means of shifting units; the label is not hardly indicative of the quality of music. Sturgill Simpson won the Grammy for "Country record of the Year" last year. And most country fans went "Who!?" Because his album was an artistic statement, containing a horn section, overt old school R&B influences, and a Nirvana cover. It's ****ing GREAT, and anyone who knows the difference between good music and crap music can recognize that. No wonder it doesn't get played on "modern country radio". Do yourself a favor : challenge your own musical prejudice.
