Holton Hill

Won't make the Vikings 53 man roster, but could be a solid stash for us.

You can't get much worse than the crap Amerson has put on the field this pre-season.

Speculation or report? Because he's had an outstanding camp for them.

I'd take the cast of One Tree Hill over Amerson as this point

Quote myself because I found a couple things...

So they talk about how he's now a long shot to make it here: https://www.twincities.com/2018/08/2...-with-vikings/

There are other reports supporting him from earlier in camp:
http://www.fox9.com/sports/undrafted...-training-camp
https://thevikingage.com/2018/07/30/...-vikings-camp/

If they do indeed cut him, I'd be all over that.

Cause their defense is really good?

You'd probably have to flip them a pick or something since he'd likely be claimed on waivers.

Here's the guys ahead of him...
Xavier Rhodes (starter)
Trae Waynes (starter)
Terence Newman (ageless wonder at 39 and Zimmer favorite)
Mike Hughes (2018 1st round pick)
Mackensie Alexander (2016 2nd round pick)
Marcus Sherels (a really solid punt returner and st player)

He has to beat out one of those guys. Personally, I think he makes their roster over Sherels. Hughes is a good punt returner, which he proved in college, and that makes Sherels expendable. Sherels has never been much as a DB and I think Hill offers them much more there. Alexander hasn't been a world beater and the age of Newman certainly means they'll need depth there in the future. I think RB Roc Thomas offers them a potential returner option as well and I see him beating out Mack Brown for the 3rd spot. Mike Boone also has some return experience and has been a good RB in camp.

Minnesota has 3 1st round CB's and a 2nd rounder...apparently they know where to invest.

By the way, I'd definitely keep an eye on whichever RB they cut between Boone and Thomas. Both have been really solid runners and receivers so far.

Think they'd trade Waynes?
