Haven't said one time he's not a "playmaker". Making plays in the run game as as safety isn't as impactful as taking the ball away or making plays in the pass game as a safety.

Box safeties are also prime candidates to break down due to injury because they're smaller having to take on bigger blockers.

Box safeties are the Running back of the defense.

But isnt him being on the team and performing like he did last year something that makes them super bowl ready now?

I mean, him and Houston had a pretty good game agaisnt the Colts to put them in the AFC champ game. Plus his season being what it was helped them win 12 games and get the 1 seed.

They can move on but they're gonna have to replace that production.

He was a first team all pro in his one good season. He went to the pro bowl 3X and we know how credible the pro bowl is these days.

I’m not enamored with paying a guy huge money that averages 1 INT and 6 PD’s in 3/4 seasons. One good year doesn’t mean big money IMO

Of course it does. But that's my whole point. What are the chances of him doing that? And what are the chances of that $16M preventing them from making other moves that might be more impactful not only with him but in the event he gets hurt or otherwise can't play at a high level?

Again, there's nothing in his past to suggest that he can put together two great seasons back to back. He's always been a "one on, one off" kind of guy. You're basically betting the 2019 season he can do something he hasn't done before.

I'm not taking that bet, sorry.
