They also held them to what, 13 points?

I'm not going to make any decisions or make any plans based of the Patriots model. It's just not something that can be duplicated.

My point is, there are multiple ways to build a decent defense that don't involve giving $16M to a guy that has never had any consistency in his career.

It's a year tag to see if he's a player you CAN build around.

The game will always be about playmakers.

And never judge everything just based on one game.

The Patriots are a dynasty for a reason and the Chiefs coverage in that game was dreadful.

You don't tag him, then extend him next year.

He's a year older and you've lost the ability to gain any value in a long term deal situation.

Either tag him and let him walk, trade him now, or tag and trade him next year.

That's a terrible example. They're a SB defense that held the Pats to 13 points.

And the Pats are an outlier. No other team in pro-sports has done what the Pats have done.

Trying to emulate the Pats is a fools errand that has failed countless times.

This.

Tagging him this year and then giving him a deal next year would be monumentally ****ing stupid.

Not okay to judge anything based on one game but okay to judge a player's career based on one anomalous season. I love Chiefsplanet.

Yeah, so let's give all of our cap money to a DE that had zero sacks in that game and did nothing to help out said secondary. That should change everything.

I'm good with that, so long as something has developed in his place. This is what Speaks and Kpasso and whomever they take in this draft are for.

That's pretty much what you've gotta do.

The fact that neither of those two guys looks worth a shit is troubling.

Speaks didn't look horrible when he had his hand in the dirt last season.

Discounting the fact that he had two double digit seasons is a disigneous argument.

And yeah, two double digit sack seasons is easier to judge than a single game.

"All of our cap"

Aaron Donald and Suh had zero sacks against Tom Brady. Should the Rams not have paid them?

Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram had zero sacks against Tom Brady. They suck too? Mistake to pay them?

Hella weak argument.

The Chiefs tagged him knowing they very well may keep him. What happened to trusting the coaches?
