That makes no sense. You're going to pay 7.5 Sack Flowers MAYBE $2M less for less production in "Win Now" mode? Really?
Stop looking at AAV. Look at the 2019 cap. Flowers is NOT going to cost $14M against the cap in 2019, for any team.

And Dee Ford has a LENGTHY injury history, followed closely by a history of being very inconsistent. Everybody keeps bringing up his 10 sacks in his 3rd season.

Does anybody actually recall that he had all 10 sacks in the first 9 weeks? He didn't notch a single sack during the stretch run going into the playoffs. He COMPLETELY disappeared.

Again, I said this boils down to what we value as human beings. For me, I view the chance of Dee Ford repeating 2018 about the same as his chances of being far worse than 2018, or worse, hurt again.

You want to take that risk. I don't. I NEVER will.

The thing with the risk is, that we are probably gonna need that high upside to get where we wanna go. Or atleast it would go a long way towards helping get there.

If they tag him and he gets hurt again as your assuming, it's not as if that's going to torpedo the season. Look at this past season.

If they fail to get any secondary help in FA because of Ford's cap number and he gets hurt, the season is likely over right then and there.

How good would they have been this past season if Ford went down again?

So if they keep Ford, sign whoever to a contract in the secondary you're good with that?

Whoever? No.

They need upgrades, not more Orlando Scandrick's.

But yeah, say they land Collins while keeping Ford? Yeah, that's decent enough.

As much as i'm not a big Collins fan, i'd think that's the route they go.

Draft and develop someone to replace Ford next year.
