However, with the overvaluing of present draft picks, could we see more of a trend moving this way to play off other teams' impatient tendencies with the draft?

Maybe squeeze that 2nd rounder into a future 1st.
That is the only way Id do a futures deal.

The Chiefs obviously dropped that info to IanRap so that the Packers would know they aren't bidding against themselves. Hope it works!

Not a ****ing chance.

Dee Ford is good and if we keep him he'll be the best player on this defense next year.

I'm not opposed to a move, but for the equivalent of a 3rd and 4th round pick? Aw hell no.

@DanGrazianoESPN: I think Houston is almost certainly gone, whether by trade or release. Ford could still be on the team if they don't get sufficient value, but there's a decent chance they do. https://twitter.com/PDeSanChief/stat...25353379004416

I still think Houston has more to offer than Ford. Would I like to pay Houston less? Hell, yes, but we have to think of a 2-3 year window. The 49ers may have interest, too and we might be able to get more out of them for Ford.

With the 49ers involved Veach has perfect leverage on the Packers.
