You can smuggle anything you want into a Vegas casino. They have no people at the doors ever. Nobody will ever bat an eye if you bring in heaps of bags, suitcases etc.

There is no cover up.

not a chance. It would have taken him longer, yes, but people in Vegas routinely carry all kinds of things to rooms. It is a huge convention site, so people haul all sorts of large cases and luggage aroung, golf clubs, etc. Won't take a second look.

With the amount of access the FBI/NSA has to everyone's communications, location, etc., I find it hard to believe they can't find a motive. I don't think it's that they "can't" find a motive. It's that they "won't" find a motive.

I've been to several conferences in LV. We haul huge suitcases around and collapsible sign boards in cases over our shoulders that could easily conceal a rifle. Anybody could easily bring an armory into one of those hotels unnoticed.

edit: and we use regular elevators.
