Go watch him throw his MVP year then watch him now. His motion, the velocity on the ball it's all different.

He's exactly the kind of guy BB is going to prefer because he'll run the offense as designed and do a solid job of it. Plays won't fail because of Jones like they would because of Newton.

He was fun to watch for a while. Is his own person and doesn’t give a **** what people think, I can respect that. But, he’s not a leader. You find out who can lead when you lose, when the going gets tough. He’s doesn’t take responsibility when things go wrong, won’t answer the questions when things are tough. Plus, as others have stated, can’t throw the ball for whatever reason. That’s the sunset cam, ride off.

Wow, yeah. He's always had a weird throwing motion. It almost looks like he's shotputting.

He clearly had more juice in that arm back during that MVP season.

Not to turn this into a covid discussion, I do think it has the makings of an issue for the league, the union and players such as Newton and Beasley and any others if this doesnt go forward 100% perfectly.
I only bring this up in here as all the pundits seem to say the reason he was released was his status of vaccination.
Its understandable with the league rules, he just may not be worth the headache. The league put in rules that are different for vaccinated and unvaccinated players and Newton may not be worth to the Pats as say Beasley is to the Bills.
It seems like a Kaepernick situation brewing in a way.
Now if you say he just wasnt good enough to keep than Id probably write it off as he is older and ready to be sent off and wouldnt give it another thought.
