OT: Chiefs autographed memorabilia

Lately I’ve been getting into the signed mini helmets. My wife said to get one for my birthday and was looking at the typical eBay listings. I’d love a Mahomes one but probably out of my price range. Anyway I found a listing under a game day sports out of Kansas City. They are the COA on the item and was wondering if they are legit.

Nice.

Yep, he changed his auto from what it was as a rookie in 2017 to what we have now. So did Kelce and Tyreek. All of them have ended up with great autos either way.

Just gotta be careful.

I read a Ted Williams autobiography and his son was investigated as part of a FBI operation on fake autographs. One FBI operative said nearly 50% of the autographs were fabricated even ones verified.

Authentic Mahomes autograph mini helmets go for 700 plus.

I get a lot of my deals on auto pictures that have flaws in them. I got an Albert Pujols one for basically nothing because it had a hole in it. You have to get really close to see it. And its for my own private collection that I'm not selling until I'm dead so I don't give a shit.

Why is a he selling a Mahomes , Kelce and Hill signed mini speed helmet for the same price as just a Mahomes signed mini speed helmet?

Why hasn't he had these helmets authenticated himself? JSA authenticates all the time in KC so access isn't a problem. He seems to be into selling signed helmets so getting them authenticated beyond his own name would surely be an easy thing for him to handle I would assume. As well as eliminating any questions of legitimacy while commanding a higher resale value for him.

I am not going to say either way if I think he is or isn't selling legit autos. They look good from the pictures, but that isn't saying anything really.

I will say how I would approach the situation though. I would take a hard pass. Whether I was reselling or not later down the line I would make damn sure it is legit autograph. The best way for me to do that is eliminate questions like, is this rando seller selling legit autos. I would rather wait and save if I had to and pay 30-40% more from a reputable authenticator like Beckett and make damn sure I got what I paid for.
Damn....Herbert going for more than Mahomes/Kelce/Hill combined.

Someone please show this to Mahomes/Kelce/Hill.

Wow, for a guy with no playoff appearances or wins and is barely above .500 with 2 weeks left in the season.

There's a big difference between the price some asshole on eBay is asking and what people will actually pay. Who in their right mind would actually pay hundreds of thousands/millions of dollars for the ****ing football card of an active player in his 20s?

Occasionally I check listings related to the ship I served on, which was long ago decommissioned and then sunk in a training exercise. Some idiot has a life preserver from the ship and is trying to sell it for $5,000. That listing has been on eBay for years. It will only become worth $5,000 if someone is dumb enough to pay that for a 50-year-old life preserver.

You can pick a JSA authenticated for $350 and up. Utilizing the Best Offer option on Ebay works out well sometimes.
