Trade Deadline

With their now being that extra WC spot and everyone being bunched up, there's gonna be alot of executives deluding themselves into thinking they have a shot.

Even with that said, I've never understood why more teams don't sell. Take the Raiders for instance and Josh Jacobs. He's clearly going elsewhere this offseason, so they probably think they could get a 3rd round comp pick. If the Saints beat them this weekend, why wouldn't you try to move him?

The Saints should trade anything that's not bolted down at this point, but I digress.

I know teams don't like to shit on their fanbase and sell because of tickets and blah blah blah.

Why dont' more teams sell though?

I'm assuming you're saying that because the vast majority of the starters are signed through next year but we have the 2nd fewest players signed through next season of any team (31). And we'd be tied for last except for frank Clark technically signed through next year.

I’d be willing to bet the 2 sides have talked about an extension and are on different planets.

The fact Nate said KC will still be in on OBJ is another sign that Mecole could potentially be moved.
Hard to imagine Hardman having ANY leverage in contract talks. He's had years in the system and by all rights should have EASILY taken wr 1 when Hill left if he was all that at wide receiver.

He isn't. He hasn't been on the same page with Mahomes most of the time. Yeah Andy schemed him up a 3td day. But I'm pretty sure he could do that with MVS in the same spot.

We're paying for speed. That's it. In terms of running routes, getting open and making big time receptions at meaningful times in games, Hardmans contributions have been rare.

I can remember more screwups from Hardman that would have been touchdowns, than actual touchdowns.

He's a shut your eyes and hold your breath guy at punt returner to boot.

Hardman likely walks because some team will overpay for speed. You need more than speed in this offense.

Just a shot in the dark because it's the bye: With the Toney trade in mind, I think Veach is going to get Suh.

We have the cornerstone guy in Chris Jones though, so it may all be a moot kinda thing.

Rotational guys are great, but for the games the Chiefs are gonna be playing in I think we need a Von Miller type outside that wins with speed AND power.

Those guys are just hard to find and come by.

Bills are the only team that’s built well enough to beat us.

But again the entire OL played poorly against them. Trey Smith was injured and it showed, Thuney gave up 5 pressures and Creed took a TD off the board with the RPO penalty. And we barely lost.

If the OL even plays a B- level game we win

His leverage is the FA WR market this coming year is terrible...

I just don't agree with this. Von Miller is a unicorn.

You're better off building stronger everywhere than putting all of your eggs in one basket.

And how did they do that? By loading up on offensive weapons and pass rushers.

And by going into serious future debt, that team will look nothing like it does today, next year.

True.

I'm just saying that the way the Bills are built supports your argument that more weapons means better offense. I mean they've invested in the offensive line but not as much as we have and I don't think they're nearly as good as we are up front. They just have weapons everywhere and a QB that can get them the ball.

Oh, you're probably way closer than I am. I'm literally blue-skying because it's the bye.

My nearly random thought was "well, we just signed an offensive player, so it's very Veach-like to sign a past-his-prime defensive player that wants one more ring before they ride off into the sunset," sort of deal.

I'm not even a fan of Suh. But he's exactly the type of player Veach signs mid-way through the season, ya know?

Huh? How is that RPO penalty on Creed? Mahomes has to fire quicker than he did there.
