Trade Deadline

With their now being that extra WC spot and everyone being bunched up, there's gonna be alot of executives deluding themselves into thinking they have a shot.

Even with that said, I've never understood why more teams don't sell. Take the Raiders for instance and Josh Jacobs. He's clearly going elsewhere this offseason, so they probably think they could get a 3rd round comp pick. If the Saints beat them this weekend, why wouldn't you try to move him?

The Saints should trade anything that's not bolted down at this point, but I digress.

I know teams don't like to shit on their fanbase and sell because of tickets and blah blah blah.

Why dont' more teams sell though?

Payne would help the pass rush and help vs the run.

A single first next year would be better to do that with.

Even if they suck - which you obviously can't guarantee with any level of certainty - teams typically discount forward draft picks substantially. I've read it's on the order one round as a rule of thumb.

So if that's true, 2024 and 2025 1sts = 2nd and a 3rd in the 2023 draft.

That doesn't sound that great if I'm the Panthers.

You're taking those future picks based upon value on this year. I look at them as time matured. Meaning it don't matter what the value of them are this year. It only matters what value they are when they reach maturity.

Rebuilds aren't solved by single picks, speed rushers or only picks right now.

Stafford is on the downside of his career. Cooper Kupp will not be able to sustain his production year over year. Donald is getting older. Even hinted at retirement last year for a more money. Jalen Ramsey isn't getting any younger.

Point is all their key pieces are wearing out.

K'Lavon Chaisson is still loaded with tools - make him a 3rd down guided missile and see what you get.

Rasheem Green, even without Hughes in tow, would be a nice inside/outside pass rusher. Some rumors that Efe Odaba might be available with Chase Young returning; he could be a nice supplemental rusher. Lorenzo Carter fits that longer pass-rusher mold that Spags likes but I'm not sure if he's actually any good.

Ogunjobi and Ngakoue have already been discussed as well. Either could help.

They have to do SOMETHING. Even if it's one of the guys who would just be depth. Although with this line....they'd probably end up as starters.

Looks like the Colts are going to trade Nyheim Hines. Bet Buffalo is in on that.
