With their now being that extra WC spot and everyone being bunched up, there's gonna be alot of executives deluding themselves into thinking they have a shot.

Even with that said, I've never understood why more teams don't sell. Take the Raiders for instance and Josh Jacobs. He's clearly going elsewhere this offseason, so they probably think they could get a 3rd round comp pick. If the Saints beat them this weekend, why wouldn't you try to move him?

The Saints should trade anything that's not bolted down at this point, but I digress.

I know teams don't like to shit on their fanbase and sell because of tickets and blah blah blah.

Why dont' more teams sell though?

They wanted Z’Darius Smith too but as I pointed out yesterday, the Tyreek Hill stuff got in the way (Nate Taylor said this on Times Ours back in March). They didn’t want to give Smith money that Tyreek was supposed to get first, then the decision to trade him happened simultaneously when Smith signed with Minnesota.

That’s too bad bc Smith has been awesome this year. Top 5 in sacks and pressures

Man - that's gonna be a tough team to keep together more than a couple of years.

Gotta figure they're looking at 3 years w/ Hill and then they allocate his money to retaining Waddle. They can keep Tua's year 1 on his probable extension pretty reasonable.

Lot of plates spinning in Miami at this point.

Can’t fix everything in one offseason. Defense has definitely improved. I think we’re gonna have a lot of fun this next Spring with 12 draft picks and a lot of money opening up

You keep throwing around the "12 draft picks" thing. There aren't gonna be 12 roster spots, so they're likely gonna move around to find something.

Outside the 4th round last year, they hit on some dart throws it seems. I don't think they figured these rookie CB's would come on that quick, but we need that to happen on the DL next year.

We never had 12 anyhow. We had 10. We now have 8.

Brett Veach has been quite good with finding pieces after rd 1. The entire secondary, Bolton and Gay, Nnadi (well not anymore but for 4 years), Hardman hasn’t been great but he’s been very useful.

It’s afforded us the ability to spend on a pass rusher. I hope we spend and draft a DE and DT early next Spring

The issue they've hit here is that now we need to hit on spots that are hard to hit on where we pick.

Thankfully, they can move around a bit.

Yeah, you're right. I forgot about the 7ths they are in line for as comps with Reed, Pringle, and Hughes then the 7th they are getting for Fenton.

Veach will likely have 5 7th round picks at the very end of the draft hahaaha. That's just stupid. I mean, if he can make them work like he did this year, kudos.

I'm not going to get too excited though, its mostly just throwing darts at priority UDFA types and hoping for the best.
