I don't think so. Andy just doesn't play rookies at LT.

They could look for someone to eventually slide over and play LT yes, but not today or tomorrow.

I’ve said before that the market will shift. We had unprecedented levels of QBs playing on “free” rookie contracts. Many of those guys are flat out getting paid this offseason. And that means they’ll ultimately have less to spend somewhere else. I think a lot of non qb positions will begin to see normalized salaries

Thus the system is broken. Its always the average salary at a position and setting the next level. Paying 5 guys 50% of the cap for a team with 53 guys is not a system that will work. KC current Jones, Thuney, Jackson and Mahomes are at or close or above 100 million. Not sustainable. The Chiefs do a great job drafting and getting some guys on the rookie contracts. How good would this team be with a 40 million QB not named Mahomes? Now you have some really excellent guys like Bolton coming up for new deals. How do you fit another couple of guys at 15-20-25 million? You dont. The real stars are now making way too much money. The spread is too much. Cant keep heading this direction. Changes in this formula will need to be made. They did it with rookie contracts and will need to figure out how to limit the top end.

It wasn’t the Adams deal that caused this overpaying of WRs, it was the Kirk one. It was the Jags who have a QB on a rookie contract that created this mess.

Thankfully nothing KC is going through is different than any team with an elite QB not on a rookie contract. Look at Buffalo right now as an example.

Teams can afford it. Look how many years the saints built around a corpse. The packers failed because of lousy personnel decisions. Teams like the rams imploded because they don’t think it’s worth it to bandaid anymore. The panic over our cap is a bit much. Mahomes doesn’t stop us from bringing in players. The question will become if we want to reload/rebuild so we cycle between elite to good enough, or do we just want to be great for a long period of time.

A big fix to the issue will be 5-6 QBs breaking the market, then inevitably chase and Justin Jefferson. It’s less about too many QBs getting paid vs not enough.
