Do you know how much trophies are actually worth? If I offered you a SB trophy or $10m which would you choose? Which feeds you family? ...Listen, I get it... for the love of the game and the glory etc etc etc but that's why you pay an agent. To remind you that taking a discount, anywhere, is a bad idea and you should max out your earnings if possible.
Really?? You talk about players making millions and use the phrase "feeding your family"?? What a crock of bullshit! You can feed your family just as good on $18M per year as you can on $25M per year And another thing. Maxing out your earnings is always spun as players getting the most out of the owners which is another crock of bullshit. The CBA has set a salary cap and floor. The owners are spending that money every year. Player X getting max value doesn't take one more dime from the owner's pocket. It takes it from the blue collar players on the team. Good solid players are forced to take less value every year because the top few players on their team are taking up half of the cap.

People say all the time not to fault the player for contract demands, but in this case, OBJ was the greedy bitch, not the team.

His n00b agent fully acknowledged the figures being used in the deal put him at the top of all tackles and turned it down because there wasn’t enough guaranteed and too much funny business for the team being able to get out of the deal.

Bitch, just play like the best and none of that shit ****ing matters. The team isn’t going to get rid of you, and you can re-negotiate any back end of a deal on your terms.

Foxtail ****er doesn’t deserve to be on this team. He deserves some sad **** ass Bears team or whatever.

Enjoy the rest of your career, Orlando. Your dead father is sad he didn’t get to watch his son be an NFL legend from heaven. And now you probably won’t even get the money you were seeking last year.

“I’m not a right tackle!” But you ARE a ****ing dumbass.

No, offering us $10m or a trophy is not equivalent to Brown's situation. Brown's choices were probably more like $18m per year and a couple of trophies or $24m per year and no trophies.

Most of us would probably take the $18m per and the trophies vs holding out for an additional $6m and no trophies. At the end of the day, how does your standard of living change going from $18m per year to $24m per year? Is there some thing you aren't able to buy or some thing you aren't able to do with "just" $18m per year? No, there isn't.

I mean sure ... But $6mil per year more is still $6mil.

I only fault OBJ for not taking the money because he overvalues himself. But otherwise, as a player, you should take the better deal especially if you've already won a ring. 6 extra million a year is a ****ing lot even if you're already a millionaire.

Yeah in retrospect when a player makes being the highest paid at their position their #1 goal, and makes that public, that might be kind of a red flag.

Never mind winning a bunch of Super Bowls, or going to the HoF. Nope I just wanted to be the highest paid for a fleeting moment in time. That's the pinnacle.

Kinda like what Lamar is going for. I think he knows his body isn't going to last, and he can't have much confidence about making deep runs in the playoffs. So his ultimate goal is to make all the money.

As a gay icon, you must have at least one piece of flair on you at all times. Orlando's gay flair of choice: the foxtail.

Verderame is reporting that the Chiefs do plan to play Taylor at Left Tackle. Maybe Tunsil's activity with Mahomes & Taylor on Twitter is just Tunsil's excitement about the OL market going up. Taylor getting $20M per year gives Tunsil more leverage on his next contract, whether it's with the Texans or whoever else.
