So there are a couple different paths here, but there's only one I see where there is a no shit breaking point in the talent at this position. I have reasonable facsimiles for the other 3 guys I like here especially since Dexter and Tillman came off the board. But this is the last guy I really see at this position who could emerge as a possible starter.
I'm probably gonna regret this one but the Seahawks take: Tanner McKee, QB - Stanford Geno is a 2 year option, IMO. And yeah, McKee doesn't come with a 5th year option so you're really looking at 2 seasons on his rookie deal but man there's just so much upside in even an average QB on a rookie contract and a good chance to see what you have in year 3 and then use that 4th season to leverage a more palatable AAV on an extension going forward if McKee is your guy. Moreover, McKee plays a lot like Geno (this version of him, not the Chocolate Pain version we envisioned) plays. So I think he can be a hell of a backup after next season when Lock presumably leaves and then take over the following season. I really kinda hoped Hooker would slide to here so I could squirrel him away on the PUP but it didn't work out that way. So I'm just gonna have to roster 3 QBs, make McKee a gameday inactive most weeks and go from there. The time to start looking for a new QB is 2 years before you actually NEED one. For Seattle, that time is now.
