What's going on in Cincinnati?

Can somebody explain what's happening?

Burrow and Chase are both eligible for monstrous deals that will re-set the market. Are neither of them happening?!

They said they are committed to keeping Tee Higgins... alright, fine. But the guy wants a $20m/year contract?

Are they going to just hit the snooze button on this for a year somehow? Are these deals getting done?

What's going on?

I get that. I’m a pretty big Higgins fan. He’s ****ing good. But unless they got a steal on his contract, I think I’d have went with Chase. It’s like doing dumb shit like paying Dak Prescott because Mahomes got paid. Well he’s good and in house. Pay him. That sounds like a slam on Higgins, it’s not intended to be, but he’s not as good as chase and if they’re both going to be towards the top of the market, I’d rather have Chase.

Put another way, I think Chase has a better chance of outperforming his contract.

Well, there was that one Super Bowl Mahomes tried to win all on his own without the help of his O-line or receivers. So selfish.

I guess that sounds better than he f-ed around and found out and was forced to take his best offer which was far less than KC had initially offered him.

But he can say he signed a contract with the largest signing bonus for an offensive lineman. That is what made him happy. He can say he got something that was the most moneywise, even if it was less than what the Chiefs offered. It was simply an ego salve for him. I hope he thinks his dad would be proud. He may not be the highest paid LT in the league but he got something he can boast about.

Yeah it looks pretty fake. You can find a sound bite where he says he met with Joe Burrow and he is in it to win championships and so is Brown. Wasn't any kind of comparison with Mahomes. Also don't see anything where he says he was looking for a "new culture", but my guess is that if any such quote exists it was also taken out of context and badly paraphrased to suit the goals of the meme creator.

The way they phrased it in the meme, it made it sound like Brown was comparing Mahomes and Burrow. The question and response from his introductory press conference was this:

Question: You blocked for Lamar when he won MVP. You blocked for Pat Mahomes when he won MVP. Having that specific experience, how much does that really help out a guy like Joe Burrow who is going to have you protecting him?
Brown: Yeah, big time, big time, I personally feel like. And I mentioned that to him as well. Ultimately, Joe isn't in this for self accolades, you know. He wants Super Bowls. And I'm in it for the same reason.

Considering it was originally posted on Twitter by a blue check mark Bengals insider, it's probably not fake.

What did obj say exactly? Not sure if he’s insulting the chiefs or if it’s just really bad paraphrasing. Guessing it’s both.

He may have done some good things in kc. But man, I’ve watched that huge gimpy mahomes run to break open the Philly Super Bowl and all I can think of is how Pacheco knocked the living shit out of the guy obj was blocking.
