Which drugs have you used recreationally?

There’s a debate in DC right now that’s got me a bit curious about the people’s drug use.

I’m going to play fast and loose on what is considered a drug and how they’re grouped/separated. If you have tried any of these options, even once, please note it in the poll options.

Also, feel free to discuss anything drug related as non-politically as possible.

voted nicotine(never been addicted but I've smoked my fair share of cigarettes, usually while on something else, cigarettes while stone cold sober suck), alcohol(am an alcoholic from a family of alcoholics have a DUI on my record not good) weed(duh, weed rules) inhalants(every one has done this don't lie, everyone sucked air out of a Reddi Whip can when they were like 9 and thought they were the coolest cmon) shrooms lsd/acid(all fine but if I never did acid/lsd again I wouldn't miss it, shrooms though...) and E or mdma or whatever you want to call it(also duh again it rules)

never done like prescription pills but like taking an absurd number of Tylenol PM's or Coricidin High Blood pressure pills to be ****ed up for a week or more yeah quite a bit as a teen. Speed like idk do crosstops/trucker pills count?

only thing I do regularly anymore is beers and weed. Cut out most every thing else, including hard liquor, to occasionally at best.

Glad I've had experiences with a lot of these, in the past. Presently I see no reason to spend any more time impaired.

The whole idea is just awful.

When I was on my ship, occasionally I'd help the HTs dump the chemical holding tank (basically a huge septic tank) once we docked. Normally that would just go over the side, but when we got close to shore they'd store it. That's a smell that never leaves your memory.

Me and my pals were chemistry nerds. We checked our math and stoichiometry and yes, we determined we could make our own Nitrous Oxide. We even checked our findings with our Chemistry teacher.
We had a whole lab in my friends basement with cooling fridge with bag containers to keep the gas cold. That summer was a haze of rock-n-roll, black lights and lots of laughing.

When I was a kid and lived in the state parks, they had a guy that his job was to drive this big truck with a tank on the back around the state to all the parks and pump out the shitters. He’d unravel the hose and stick it down each commode, then turn on the pump to suck up all the shit. I remember watching him eating a sandwich and drinking a cup of coffee while pumping those shitters out. You could smell that truck from a half mile away.

One day mom made some cookies and she sent me down with some to give to him and he said no thanks because he had a weak stomach.

As someone who spent most of their 20's and 30's as a touring musician criss-crossing the U.S. and Europe, most of them.

The only time I did meth was an accident; some asshole told me it was coke, which I immediately realized it was NOT. That sucked. Who wants to stay up for two days? I like my sleep. That shit destroys people fast. No thanks.

I watched heroin destroy people, so I steered clear of that.

At this point, I rarely even drink anymore, although I'm struggling with quitting smoking.

The main issue is that once you eliminate the need for food and sleep....you can get a TON of shit done. It's why I've come across people who first get into that shit and have the cleanest ****ing house ever. It's impossible to just chill. You need to be up and moving around.

Yeah it was amphetamines that allowed me to party all semester and then write a 25-page final literally overnight. The first few times you feel like Superman. There’s just a tipping point where the drug takes over and you become a zombie. It consumes you so much you go from being able to do everything to not being able to do anything in a matter of just a few weeks.

Yep. And the higher your tolerance gets...the more of it you need to just exist. Those times when I would finally sleep after being up for days....I was literally gone. You weren't waking me up for anything.
