So the legal recreational weed at my local store starts about $35 for an 1/8 or 3.5 grams and goes up quickly.

But even the 'low octane' stuff is so much stronger than what it was say just ten years ago.

I'm a light smoker with a low tolerance so even with the CA taxes, I can get a buzz from weed cheaper than alcohol when I start mixing [admittedly snobbish] cocktails.

Damn, $35? That used to be a good price here in Florida. Now I usually buy what’s on sale. I can usually get an 8th for between $10-$15.

I don't know, maybe there's a cheaper option. I'm not paying that much attention that I'm trying to buy the absolute cheapest option. This is the legal stuff from the store. The black market is of course cheaper. But that's the thing, even the legal with the supposedly crazy high taxes is cheaper than alcohol, at least from my perspective.

I suppose I could compare it against cheap malt liquor or something and that would change things up. But cheap alcohol is nasty. And it's not like I'm smoking some crap dirt weed.

Basically I'm going with the lower cost/lower octane side of things.

I tried one of the $60 versions. For me, anyway, it was too strong and too hard to regulate dosage. I'm sure if I was lightning up all the time it would be a different story.

Do you have any idea how much Pibb Xtra a person could buy for that?

Answer: this much. It would last me for a month.

Really really smart guys often experiment with drugs.

There's some wall you're supposed to break through and achieve complete comprehension of the planet. I've never done it. It lasts about 4 minutes and feels like 3 days. We should do it together and collect data.

I'll buy you all the Pibb.

Thanks for the compliment.

And while I've never broken through the 4th wall, I have touched the nexus of space and time and it's glorious!
