I suspect we'll look back at the 2023 draft as a huge missed opportunity to draft Luke Musgrave, and thus make TE a top priority. Then we'll draft a player about half as good as Musgrave.

I am leaning towards OT, IOL, or Nose.
The FA market for nose could be interesting next year, and if the cards fell right, a premium free agent could come available. OT will be pretty lean, but there are a couple of interesting guys. The IOL focus could be driven by a need to cost effectively replace Thuney if the team has aspirations of retaining creed and or Trey. Finally, WR and, perhaps more likely, TE could be a focus if Travis gets hurt or loses a step. |

The only spot on defense I could see them use a 2nd or 3rd Ed pick on is LB. That's assuming both Gay and Tranquil both leave.
I think a lot of their plan is gonna come down to how these receivers work out. If Skyy and/or Rice really show out this year that will help, but if they don't I think a WR or TE are absolutely in play. Kelce isn't gonna be Kelce for much longer. He turns 34 in October, so the decline is coming. They were looking hard at WR's this year so it is something they want. If I had to guess I'd say WR or TE in rd 1, G (Thuney replacement) in rd 2 and then maybe LB in rd 3.

He becomes cuttable in 2025. They may just extend him anyway, he’s beloved by the team. I do think 2024 is a sneaky year for the Chiefs to go Draft IOL on the 2nd day, though. Creed and Smith are going to be up for a contract in 2025. I’m not sure what Smith’s contract demands might be. But Creed is going to re-set the market at center and the Chiefs have moved on from every great center they’ve drafted during the Reid era (Rodney Hudson, Mitch Morse). |

I think it will be a defensive lineman.
I think LT will work it self out in the long run, and I'm OK with the Chiefs continuing to throw 2-3-4 round picks on the line for development. TE is not a concern. There are more good options in the pipeline. Hell Iowa once again has two seniors who could turnout to be interesting. |

Complained that they keep wasting picks on mediocre TE prospects. Time will tell. |

Brock Bowers could actually be the heir to Kelce. Musgrave will be JAG.

The exact same as WR. Wanya Morris was one of the most athletic OL with size in the draft. He's played well at LT and RT in college.
Step 1 is seeing where he is at camp/preseason. He's got the upside to start at RT IMO but he has to show it. I'm not sure he can start at LT at this point. There's a lot of questions that need answers

If he's got the athletic profile to play RT, I'd think he could play LT. So I'd start seasoning him there and leave Taylor at RT.

OT.
I don't think we're looking DT because I don't see 'top of the board' (i.e. 1st round) as any sort of necessity for Nose and I don't think we need to worry just yet about replacing Jones. IOL just doesn't have the positional value that high. I think we'll continue to layer the WR position with 2nd and 3rd round picks unless, as was previously suggested, neither Moore nor Rice show that they're ready to be at least #2 options in 2024. At that point I could see a philosophical shift to either spend in FA for one or take one in the 1st (though I haven't seen much disconnect between late 1st and mid/late 2nd WR talent the last couple years). I think this may be a good year for a trade-up to grab a high pedigree OT, depending on the development of Wanya. Caveat: If Brock Bowers slides to the 12-14 range, we're gonna go get him. May go ahead and give up Mahomes-esque value, but I think we'll make the move. I don't think TE is necessarily high on their list, but I think there's A tight end that will be. It just doesn't feel like a draft where they'll be as hung up on positions as they will be on seeing individual players they like. At least in the 1st round. The 2nd and 3rd is where we may see some LB and IOL capital being used as more need-based selections.
