The position at the top of our 2024 draft board right now:

It's far too early, of course, but if you had to bet on a position being a the #1 position of need for next offseason, it's....

poll forthcoming.

I don't think people understand just how rare it is for a quality LT prospect like Anton Harrison to be there after 20. History shows it's not likely.

Also, I just looked at some mocks and saw Joe Alt being mocked as a first rd tackle. Holy shit. Wouldn't that be something to get John's boy?

Bowers is going 25+ picks before our pick at 32.

As for the thread, DT all the way. We've added talent at OT and DE. I'm all-in on finally adding more than a mid-rounder at DT to pair with Jones.

Would be fine with WR if at least 2 of Moore/Toney/Rice don't step up. Fine with TE if the perfect guy is there. And otherwise, pretty much just stacking up on talent at the right positions -- DL, CB, OL.

But Spags likes having a 'true' NT alongside Jones and DE's with inside versatility that he'll move alongside Jones to get after the passer in obvious passing situations.

I just don't think the organization is too gung-ho on the idea of having a real difference maker alongside Jones. If he turns out the be the best player on the board - oh sure, they might go that route. But I don't think they look at DT and think 'we need to address that position early' because they just don't put a ton of value on the 2-down NT they like to have playing alongside Jones for about half the game and figure they can get good interior production from guys like Omenihu, Karlaftis and/or Danna when they need more inside pass rush presence.

I do think 2024 is a sneaky year for the Chiefs to go Draft IOL on the 2nd day, though. Creed and Smith are going to be up for a contract in 2025. I’m not sure what Smith’s contract demands might be. But Creed is going to re-set the market at center and the Chiefs have moved on from every great center they’ve drafted during the Reid era (Rodney Hudson, Mitch Morse).
It'll be interesting to see what they do with Creed. Morse was a concussion machine and Hudson was with a strapped cap and Alex Smith as QB - who was a short timer, so who gives a ****. If Mahomes wants Creed, I think Mahomes gets Creed.

For sure, but I don't think that should eliminate him as a possibility for KC.

Creed and Bolton will be extended. Trey, Sneed and Gay will leave to get bigger contracts than we can offer.

I am hopeful that the chiefs can find a way to retain trey even if it means moving on from Thuney.

With their success at developing DBs, I can see Sneed leaving, and I love Bolton for the right numbers, but I think there is a better chance at Bolton leaving than Trey Smith. We need the. Nasty he brings to the line.

I just love watching trey smith highlights. Is it a rational reason to want him extended? No. But I like the way he plays and it's contagious. He brings the punch in a rare way, and I enjoy watching his style.

If you don't have Nick Bolton, I don't think the defense works very well.

I think Bolton is a must-re-sign.

I don't see any way Bolton isn't atleast a Chief for a 2nd contract. Dude is Bobby Wagner 2.0

Honestly, not a bad comparison, but I think Wagner had some more athleticism. I've compared Bolton to London Fletcher a hundred times. I really do think he's going to play until he's like 38, his game is built on intelligence and technique.

He'd have a Super Bowl MVP like Wagner if that second fumble would have stood. He was the Chiefs second-best player during that Super Bowl.
