Over the weekend, moviegoers turned out in force for Greta Gerwig’s neon-coated fantasy comedy “Barbie,” which smashed expectations with $155 million to land the biggest debut of the year.

In the end, though, it wasn’t a competition as “Barbie” loomed large over box office charts, thanks to an inescapable marketing campaign, as well as quality to match the stratospheric hype. At the international box office, the film added $182 million for a stunning global tally of $337 million.

The cultural craze known as “Barbenheimer” worked to fuel the biggest collective box office weekend of the pandemic era, as well as the fourth-biggest overall weekend in history. It’s worth noting the top three weekends of all time were led by the debuts of sequels in massive franchises (“Avengers: Endgame,” “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”).

the movie is intended to divide the audience based on gender roles, as everything involved in cultural marxism seeks to do

it is inherently political, and what's worse, insidious, because it presents itself as a fun kid's movie while simultaneously seeking to warp impressionable young minds

I like you man. Always have. Still do. I could care less about your politics. Those beliefs are yours to believe.

Advice from my personal experience since I left DC and don’t talk or think politics every day…… you can’t fix what’s wrong with our society by talking on the internet. Some of these problems can’t be solved in our lifetimes. Just enjoy life. It’s a stupid movie not an insidious plot to decay society further.

Roll back the politics. You’ll will be happier, guarantee it.

the point of the movie is gender roles, slanted one way. that is inherently political.

ergo, there is no avoidng it.

it's not a fun girly popcorn movie. it's not clueless or pretty woman or 13 going on 30, which is what it was advertised as, intentionally, to deceive the public into buying tickets.

its the inverse of sound of freedom. you can't discuss that film without politics, either.

Of course it’s not a “girly” movie idiots. It’s rated pg-13.
My wife took my 15 year old granddaughter to see it, and they both hated Barbie’s when they were younger. They both went to laugh and heckle. I expected them to get kicked out.

They both thought it was cheesy, but funny at times. Most of the other people there were younger to middle aged women.
