What bothers me about modern pop music (including corporate metal) is that far too much of it sounds almost identical. It feels like they use an algorithm to generate "new" content. If your music doesn't fit in the algorithm, you don't get any promotion.

I know it's been that way to some degree for a long time, but it has gotten worse. Just mindless junk recycled ad nauseam. People listen to it because it is easy and they don't really have any understanding of how music gets made.

Oh, I don't mind electronic elements either. I just believe that should be used to elevate good music, not to make bad music sound good.
