Glad they picked up their options.
Now, what is either one worth, and is that value that we can afford?
McDuffie is probably in that $20 to $23 million APY range, while Karlaftis is perhaps in that $15 to $18 million APY range. Do you think those numbers are high or low?

Every player in the NFL has some sort of kryptonite....a good front 7 can shut down Saquon....a defense set up to make Lamar Jackson think pretty much renders him irrelevant....

Give me McDuffie and his 99% all day long....he may get beat off and on, but the number of times he pretty much negates the best receiver on the other team makes up for any perceived short comings.

I have an unsettling feeling that they are planning on Karlaftis not being here beyond this season.

Hopefully it's just gas I'm feeling and I'm 100% wrong.

You are far too low.

Karlaftis is floored at 20 and likely more 23-25.

McDuffie is floored at 25 and likely more 27-29.

Do you think McDuffie is capable of getting beat by Justin Watson?

Derek Stingley sure is.

They also have to plan for Rice and Worthy in the coming years.

You can't keep all your good players, unfortunately.

By looking at the ER category on OTC, you are paying Karlaftis more than several rushers who are better.

I do not believe McDuffie should be making the 2cd most money for a CB either.

Do you understand how contracts work and that each season they get bigger and bigger?

Rousseau just signed for 20mm/year. He's not nearly as accomplished as Karlaftis. That's your floor.

McDuffie will absolutely be a top-3 CB in APY when he signs his contract, and that's usually how it works for All-Pro players who are that young.

I'm not wrong on this.

Just thinking about that 2022 draft class where we traded up ahead of Buffalo to get McDuffie and after that pick Buffalo traded up to take Kaiir Elam. Now the Chiefs picked up McDuffie's 5th year option and the Bills traded Elam to Dallas instead. Just another draft win over Buffalo

Explain how Rousseau is less accomplished when last season they had the same sacks. Yet, career, he, Rousseau, has more FF, more INT. They are very similar players.

As we all know, contracts go up every year for the same production. Karlaftis, as much as I like him as a Chief, is nothing special. Tied for the 27th best DE.

McDuffie is arguably one of the top 2 or 3 Nickel CBs in the league. But as an outside, island, CB, he is not top 5 but definitely top 10.

Dreamworld is keeping them both at team friendly deals. Reality is that it will not happen.

If you can't keep both, you need to trade one a year early for max return.

Painful, but smart.
