His club option next year is reasonable - $13M - so I imagine they’ll pick that up unless he absolutely craters.

If he ends up at .250 BA with 20 HR, they’ll pick it up.

I don't get to watch as much of the Royals as the KC locals but the one thing that has always bugged me about Salvy at this time of his career is that if the pitcher can get 2 strikes on him Salvy has a tendency to chase a 3rd strike either down and in or down and outside of the plate.
