*****2025 NFL DRAFT THREAD - NO SPOILERS*****

Version 2025 - PATRICK MAHOMES & THE RETURN TO GLORY

Let's ****ing do this.

Quote:
Rules for once the draft begins:
  1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's So and So to Green Bay) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!") or asking "questions" after the news is already out to make it seem like you're a genius guesser (ex: "Vegas gonna take player here?").
  2. Don't be a dick.
Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny.

Quote:
NOTE: Like in year's past, I will be starting player threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP.
These separate player threads will be made as soon as the news breaks, but outside of this thread. This means if you are in the lounge, you may see the player prior to the TV announcement.
I will also link the player threads below, shortly after they are drafted. Pure knee-jerk gold to reference in the future.

Here are our picks:

Round 1, #28: Josh Simmons
Round 2, #63: Omar Norman-Lott
Round 3, #66: Ashton Gillotte
Round 3, #85: Nohl Williams
Round 4, #133: Jalen Royals
Round 5, #156: Jeffrey Bassa
Round 7, #228: Brashard Smith

Here is a list of the prospects the Chiefs have shown interest in this year.

Here are our prior years' Draft Threads:

Compared to what?

I am assuming Browns getting lauded for Shedeur Sanders but was he really a 1st round pick?

Based on what I have seen no.

Maybe a 2nd or 3rd with added baggage which is right about where he went when you add in the issues to his tape.

Yeah, it looks like the browns score is greatly helped the sanders pick. It’s one metric- certainly not perfect.

Our best value picks (according to this) were Smith and Royals and our worst value picks were ONL and Gillotte.

I'm really getting sick of seeing MU players go to Denver, where I now have to want them to fail. Ray, Lock, Albert O, Abrams-Draine, Badie, and now Walker. What the hell??? Do the Broncos have some connection to Mizzou??

I’m kind of glad we didn’t take TE.

I want to see what Wiley can do, he’s a big time target. Remember Kelce didn’t play his 1st season either, this guy is being overlooked imo

I wouldn’t expect much…think we reached last year on his pick. UDFA guy from Clemson looks more impressive on tape.

At 6:34 was Veach’s conversation with Roseman about the trade back from 31 to 32. He pretty much gave us a pick (Bassa)

Howie asks if he should do to Veach what Veach did to him. What is that about?

I think it was the “the last one … obviously” thing. Because they beat us in the Super Bowl and he wanted to rub it in.

Yet the Jags wanted Gillotte at 70 and the Rams were desperately trying to trade up for him.

That's why these charts are ****ing dumb, even if they're mostly positive for the Chiefs. I don't need a chart to know that the Chiefs got great value.

Charts are always weird, especially when evaluating draft picks/draft class. Teams drafting high should net more blue chip players than those drafting where KC drafts. Rankings should take that into account.
