10. If you could invest an additional $100 billion in any ONE of the following governmental programs, which ONE would you invest in?

14. Assuming that only one of these can be emphasized in public schools, which one should be taught?

15. Should smoking be banned in all public places?

Don't ban it, and NO, I don't smoke.

16. Should the federal government develop a national health care system to replace the current system of private insurance?

No

17. Does violence in movies, television, and video games promote violence in real life?

Yes

18. Should divorces be easy to obtain?

No

19. Should America subsidize farmers who raise crops that are unprofitable due to foreign competition?

Yes * But, farmers aren't subsidized due to unprofitablility from foreign competition...they're subsidized because in 'full-operation' the American farmer would flood the world markets with product. Farming technology has evolved to the point of 200+ bushel corn, 80-90+ bushel soybeans. The world couldn't handle this kind of stockpiles. The American farmer is subsidized to NOT flood the world markets. As a kid, 35 years ago, I can remember seasons of $11.00 per bushel beans, and $6.00 per bushel corn...beans are now sub-$6.00 and corn sub-$2.00.

How much has everything else raised in price since then?

The American Farmer is NOT ripping anyone off. And, NO, I'm not a farmer either.

20. Should a portion of each citizen's Social Security payments be made available to them to invest in private funds?

Yes, I'm a successful stock picker...and everytime I hear it discussed, and argued I scream..."IT'S VOLUNTARY!" Why the heck shouldn't I be able to participate in an alternate, voluntary program that I can manage rather than continue to pay into an outdated system that's going to soon be taking in a lot less than it's paying out.

Tell ya what, take a bucket of water. Now, punch a hole in the bucket, and another and another. Turn on the faucet, and everythings stays okay. Now, blast the bottom out of the bucket...

Why wouldn't people want divorces to be easy to obtain? What is the advantage in having unhappy unions?

I think the thought process being that if it's hard to obtain a divorce, people won't be so quick to jump into marriage before they're ready...

My understanding is that it is good that it is difficult so that people may work harder to keep a marriage going instead of giving up just because things get a little rough.
