Censorship Policy - Page 8

The users of ChiefsPlanet decided many years ago that we would censor a select few objectionable words. We decided the F-bomb, C-bomb, and N-bomb were amongst those. We have since added ANY racial slur to that list. We've also stated that any attempt to circumvent our automatic censor would result in severe punishment.

However, we've not been very consistent. For instance, I've always allowed a partially censored "fuck" to stand. I have never allowed umulats or other such methods of fooling the filter to remain if I discovered them. Our lack of consistency has recently been pointed out and I'd like to solve the issue. Please vote your preference.

and you're right about the accent thing...

when i first met my wife, she had the most wonderful accent...

after 26 years, she has lost most of it, but every now and then she'll come out with some sort of island expression complete with island accent...

Phobia, what I have always done was take the good old four letter word and add ** to the middle two letters in the filters.

IE: f**k, s**t,

In a perfect world, I'd say **** the filters and let every ****ing word stand as is. Quite frankly, if someone can't handle a little ****ing language they shouldn't be on the ****ing Internet.

That being typed, I see no problems with the way the filters work now. Although it is weird that shit, cock, pussy, ass, twat, and several other words aren't filtered at all.

Of course, if they were, my posts to Tom Cash and chiefs4me would look like this:

I say you can filter whatever words you want, but I ask you this: Are the cuss words any worse than some of the visuals that are created by some of our more "artistic" posters?
