Casey Wiegmann deserves the Pro Bowl

Really...he does. This guy is such an unsung hero in Chiefsland and across the league it's not even funny.

Check this out. On LJ's second touchdown run, Wiegmann and Welbourn pull to the right. Denver's D.J. Williams comes SCREAMING through the backside hole and is headed right for Larry Johnson. This play is going to be killed in the backfield...and then Wiegmann stops pulling and stones D.J. Williams in midstride.

LJ manages to follow the block of Welbourn (who cuts Al Wilson ) and score, but Casey Wiegmann prevented DISASTER.

Here's the replay:

And here are some stills:

And one more angle:

Also as noted in the screenshots, Michael Myers is a holding bitch. CHEATING DONKS!

Not too shabby for an undersized center. It seems like our Oline is constantly fighting amongst themselves to see who can be more underrated. Makes you wonder if the NFL could save a couple of bucks and get a group discount on airfare to Hawaii.

I would say Roaf shouldn't go this year. He's missed too many games and got owned in SD.

But think of the money they could save with the group rate! Just a thought. Looking out for the NFL's best interest.

I wonder if that shouldn't have a twist on it by having a halfback option pass back to the qb, look how wide open Trent is and no one is near him at all...

man, that's a very cool presentation...I like it, and point taken...Weigmann is very good at leveraging/turning players when he doesn't have the size/strength to maul them...

great thread

Really, look at how fast DJ Williams is coming in. Casey is athletic enough to stop on a dime, pivot and shove his ass out of the play.

Think Tim Grunhard could make that play?

hey, i like the sarcasm. But, if the blockers seal off the backside, it would be a play that might actually work.....

but I have a lot of people knocking down my door for Offensive coordination...

I too am becoming a backer of Wiegman for the Pro Bowl. His mobility is one of the reasons that we can consistently run outside.

The Broncos are a bunch of cheaters. Why is that guy just standing there trying to strangle Brian Waters instead of trying to make a tackle?

the Center should be the most athletic lineman - Wiegmann IMO has showed hes a Pro Bowl starter all year.
