Maxima SE or Accord EX?

Man, Im torn...

Picking up a new car due to the addition to our family, and Im not going the ****ing minivan route...

Both of these cars have great respect... but I wanted to gauge the CP crew to see what input you guys have.

I thought you had tens of thousands of dollars to piss away now that you are a successful stock broker/tee shirt guy?

I own a 2000 SE Maxima...I love it....I've crashed into a barrier going 60 and hydro-planing 180 degrees. It's got great pickup at 222 Hp...has room...and is comfortable. The bose stero 7 speaker system is nice too. Mine had the meridian package...I've been satisfied with the car and I'm about to top 100,000. Did have a problem with the ignition coils...warranty covered it...no big deal.

I love the styling of the new maximas. My wife has an older one and it has been pretty reliable for her. You can't really go wrong with the Accord either. They are just damn good cars.

If it were me, I'd choose the Maxima due to looks.

yeah, but i choose not to be frivelous with my assets. I want a good reliable car, not a flashy look at me car.

I love the Maxima, but I can get a great deal on this Accord.

Go ahead and laugh, but my Dodge Grand Caravan is the greatest vehicle I've ever owned. Plenty of leg & head room (I'm 6'2") and whether I'm going mountain biking, traveling, doing home improvements or whatever, it gets the job done. Better mpg than an SUV, it fits in my garage and is very car-like in handling and parking. You're not going to look cool in an Accord or Maxima either. Just my $.02.

They're both appliance cars. I'd just go with whichever is cheaper.

Depends a little on what your priorities are. I test drove both of them last year and the Maxima will run circles around the Accord (I test drove the 6-speed SE - 255 HP). Hondas have always had slightly better reliability stats and better resale value though.

We just traded our minivan off on a Honda CR-V. We were going to get an Accord but that trunk looked really small plus my wife thought it was like sitting in a bucket. The CR-V has as much passenger space as the Accord and a lot more luggage room.

As for the Maxima, it seems that Nissan lately has been taking a hit on their reliability. I blame it on Renault (who owns Nissan).

I drivne some of the new Maxima's at 265 and they're too fast.
