Todd Archer, of the Dallas Morning News, reports NFLPA executive director Gene Upshaw revealed what he thinks the salary cap will be for the 2006 season. Upshaw believes the salary cap will rise to between $102 million and $104 million if a new collective bargaining agreement is reached. He feels the cap will be between $92 million and $95 million without a new agreement.

doesnt this mean that the Chiefs would be fine if this is passed???
If it was as little as $14M per team that seperated the sides, this deal would already be done. Don't believe this for an instant. The 2006 cap is already under contract. An expansion of $14M per team in 2006 represents chump change that would be a gimmee requested by the players and given by the owners during negotiations. The real sticking point will be what the cap will be in 2008. Based on the local revenue numbers that have been thrown around, I'm betting that the NFLPA is looking for a cap of $160M+ beginning in 2008 -- almost double what it is right now.
