I truely believe that if the Chiefs could find a way to produce significant and consistant pressure through the D-line, then any of these CB's will be serviceable.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

It's unpredictable in where a prospect will fall, and someone like Marshall probably will be lost in the fold.-

That's nothing. I have people telling me Cromartie is Deion Sanders based off of one college start and a few plays at nickelback.

I can say one thing for sure.

No matter who we draft, whether it be Hill, Cromartie, etc., NO ROOKIE will start for the Chiefs this year.

It's the Chiefs. Somebody already on the team will be starting, or we'll bring someone else in. I still think Ty Law is in play.

Nah. I don't think so.

Too much $$$. They'll do the usual, whine and dine the guy. If worst comes to worst, make him an offer. Still think the chiefs won't pay up to his asking price.

We won't get him. UNLESS, he has no choice and nobody wants him.

There's your answer. Nobody is sniffing Law right now. My guess is that if he's still available in mid-June, we'll look at bringing him in for TC.

I'd agree other than he's from Fresno which means his head coach has ties to numerous head coaches in the league. I doubt he's forgotten.

Sorry, but I cannot participate in your poll as it is void of the obligatory Gaz option. Besides, the answer is so obvious people: Rich Scanlon!

I don't know. I would've said that if Vermeil was still here, but Herm seems far more open to playing young players -- if they're the best option for that position.

In the case of a corner behind Surtain, i've got to assume that a first-round DB -- be it Hill, Joseph, Williams or someone like that -- has a better chance to start than one of Walls, Battle, Perkins, Sapp, etc.

Herm will play young players if they can win a starting job. Hell, DV did that too with DJ.

But I got news for you, none of the rookie CB's are gonna beat out Walls. It's just not gonna happen. Rookie CB's don't start unless they're special and we're not gonna get that kind of CB at #20.

Even the great Dale Carter, who Herm mentioned by name as an example of he and Carl getting players that could start early, wasn't an opening day starter. He started only 9 games in his rookie season and returned kicks/punts.

PS: You're going to have to change your username. The less than sign ****s up the board format.
