Is it sad that I...
can say:
"That's the best use for a cat." In response to this: http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Top_New...ad_track/5016/ I mean, a dog, and I have problems. But cats are, well, I hate them. |

I have both, love'em both. You just have to get the right ones. I have a lab that doesn't bark, bite, or jump on you. I also have a cat that is pretty well behaved.

I hate people who have big stupid dogs that don't control them. Years ago I lived with woman whose parents had two enormous giant mutant black schnauzer things (they were like great dane size). One of them was mean as hell, but anti-social, so it didn't bother me. The other was was reeruned - and I'm not talking normal dog reeruned, but ultra-reeruned - it would regularly walk into walls and furniture. And it had that nasty schnauzer beard, which was always wet with drool. I was constantly getting mugged by the damned thing - it would tear holes in my clothes, scratch me, get that friggin drool all over me - and my girlfriend's dumbfuck parents thought it was cute. Yeah, it's cute that my brand new shirt is destroyed because you won't discipline your pets. Thanks a lot. Finally, one day when I was in a room alone, the dog started bothering me and I punched it right in the head as hard as I could. That did the trick - the damn thing never bothered me again (perhaps it wasn't quite so stupid after all). I'll stick with cats, thank you very much. Feed 'em and clean the box every other day. No walking, no fuss. |

Some cats can be really nasty. I'm generally very good with animals (dog and cats alike) and have encountered a few that I'd just as soon toss in a microwave. But what I don't understand why hateful cats earn all cats a bad rep, yet nasty dogs are somehow overlooked.
A hateful cat might hiss at you or scratch you. A hateful dog might RIP YOUR fuckING THROAT OUT. |

All very true, Mr. frazod, and somewhat concerning, I might add.
My issue with cats is that I am allergic to cats. And, the interesting part is I'm completely convinced that cats know who is and who is not allergic to cats. When a cat knows a person is allergic to cats, that cat can and will leap up to 70 feet to land on the allergic person's chest and rub his cat back on the allergic person's face. This causes great enmity between human- and cat-kind I can tell you. FAX |

I didn't think about the allergy thing (obviously I'm not allergic to them), but I know a good many people who are. Certainly that is a legitmate cause for dislike.
But, of course, it's not the cat's fault you're allergic to it. |

I'm allergic to cats, and I don't particularly like them, but I don't actively hate them.
I think animal cruelty is one of the basest, most disgusting things that a person can engage in. I love dogs, and I have a very active 60 pound dog. Fraz would probably hate her due to her hyperactivity, but whenever I've had a shitty day, no matter what, she's always happy to see me. Twice in the past two months someone has unexpectedly opened our door (both times by accident) and she bolted across the room to put herself between the "intruder" and me.

Nevertheless, you are quite correct. If cats keep their distance, we can live in relative peace. However, I am not joking about the evil, sixth sense that cats have in respect to allergic persons. I have, on many occasions, been in a room with one cat and dozens of other people and the cat inevitably chooses me to be his best buddy. I swear they know and either don't care or revel in the knowledge that they can sicken a human at will. What they don't seem to understand is that a human can drop kick a cat approximately 20 yards against the wind. FAX |
